The Radioactive Chicken Heads - Biography

The Radioactive Chicken Heads are an American comedy punk rock band originally from Orange County, California. The band's sound has been called "genetically modified rock." They are best known for their theatrical live shows, which they perform in costume as various mutant combinations of human bodies with chicken heads except for the lead singer, Carrot Topp and guitarist Cheri Tomato, who are portrayed as giant vegetable people. Originally named Joe and the Chickenheads, the band first formed in 1994. After producing a few cassettes in the 90s, they appeared on a number of compilation CDs, including "Hey Brother 4," which was called the album that saved OC rock in 1998. Since 2004, the band has been performing under the name, the Radioactive Chicken Heads. According to their official explanation, "We were forced to be named the Radioactive Chicken Heads because of new government regulations which require all radioactive farm products to labeled clearly." [3] The Radioactive Chicken Heads released the album "Growing Mold" in March 2005 and were featured in Blender Magazine's "Weird Band Alert" column in the October 2005 issue. In November 2006, the Radioactive Chicken Heads appeared on The Tyra Banks Show performing "Our Last Song" on the "Tyra's Got Talent" episode.
